2/22/25 – Thinking about how this all started for me. Since coming to California in 2000, I think in the back of my mind I’ve always been enamored with the mysteriousness and complexity that is wine. Life has distracted me a lot and I’ve found myself immersed in pursuing career stuff, scraping by for a bit couch surfing, back to pursuing a career, relationships, etc. A few years ago, I met a friend through work, who also has an affinity for wine. Mainly Chablis and Champagne. He wanted to explore the world of wine a little more. So I offered to take a class with him. We grabbed a couple of seats for WSET L1. I found myself getting thirsty for more. Going deeper. It seems I startled on a never-ending universe that has been that tickle in the back of my brain since I started paying a little attention 20+ yrs ago. Since L1, I’ve gone through L2 (Distinction) and L3 (Merit). I’m currently studying for D1 and soon D2 and going through the Diploma program for WSET. All along walking that tightrope of thought, “What the hell have I gotten myself into?” and. “How exciting!!!” I know this is a whole different level than anything I’ve gone through, wish me luck. I’ll need it!
